3 steps toward simplicity to de-clutter your day

Sue Montgomery Bibles and Bathrobes

When we clutter our days with worry about what tomorrow may bring, it can be difficult to focus on the simplicity of what God has for us right now.

If that sounds familiar, don’t feel bad.

We all do it.

And for those of us who are planners—the need to know what’s ahead may be even worse.

Fortunately, the Bible provides some key guidance about how to deal with our tendency to clutter our minds and emotions.

Here are 3 steps toward simplicity to help you embrace God’s purposes for today.

  1. Remember—God says there’s a time for everything, and everything doesn’t belong in today.
  2. Seek—God’s guidance about his purposes, since he knows the timing for what he wants us to embrace.
  3. Discard—the need to worry about what tomorrow may bring. Jesus calls us to live in today, seeking him first so he can help us focus on his to-do list, instead of our own.
