Embracing the Promised Land

Just imagine being Joshua.

Stepping into the sandals of Moses.

Assuming responsibility for all those men, women, and children who were counting on him.

Being God’s chosen representative to lead His people into a land of uncertainty and opposition.

But when God gave him that promotion, Joshua didn’t blink.

He’d experienced God’s faithfulness throughout his life.

He’d witnessed how God had worked both in and through Moses all those years in the desert.

So when God called him to step up, he knew He would equip him for whatever his new role would require.

When God commanded him to “be strong and courageous,” He didn’t expect Joshua to do that on his own.

He promised to be with Him each step of the way.

And He does the same for us today.

Equipping and accompanying us into that to which we’re called.

Isaiah 41:10,13 (NIV)
Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
