It was no accident that the Son of God was born in a filthy stable.
In a little village that wasn’t known for its prime real estate.
With no pomp and circumstance except for the visits of a few smelly shepherds and a trio of kings who knew something special was afoot.
God’s choice to arrive among us into such circumstances was his stake driven into the soil of humility.
His notice to humanity that he isn’t impressed by the fancy.
Whether that be fancy things, fancy words, or fancy religion.
What impresses God is a heart that longs for him.
That aches for a continual deepening of a relationship with him.
That seeks to put his priorities first above all else.
