Two places where we’re particularly vulnerable are in our hearts and in our minds.
Our hearts are tender, and at risk for all kinds of hurts.
Our minds can be like sponges, soaking up the angst of the world around us.
Perhaps that’s why Paul emphasizes the need to guard them.
To recognize that they are especially prone to the threat of anxiety.
We don’t have to allow our hearts and minds to be subject to the swirl of negativity that surrounds us.
Instead, God offers his “peace which passes all understanding” to all who seek refuge in Him.
Philippians 4: 6-7 (NIV)
