There are many things that can make us feel anxious or afraid.
When that happens, our knee-jerk response is often to find a way to “fix” it.
To look to our own resources.
To dig into our inner capabilities.
To mount a campaign of self-sufficiency to tackle things head on.
While there’s nothing inherently wrong with embracing our strengths to address the things at hand, God wants us to look to Him first.
After all, he’s the Source of our strength.
The Author of our capabilities.
The Perfector of our peace.
Self-sufficiency is the opposite of what God expects.
Instead, He wants us to turn to Him first.
And trust Him to provide the answers that we need.
