God is omni-everything.
Omniscient. Omnipotent. Omnipresent.
He is the Alpha and the Omega.
The Beginning and the End.
The Creator of the Universe, of all creatures great and small.
So why does God, possessing all of these magnificent characteristics, ask us to pray?
Certainly, he can accomplish his purposes without us chiming in.
God asks us to pray because he wants a relationship with us.
Because he cherishes our reaching out to him.
Because he loves it when we want to know him better.
Because he knows the process of deepening our relationship with him is good for us beyond anything we can comprehend.
Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)
