Each morning, our little dog, Blue, waits with eager expectation for his walk.
That’s because he knows that—unless it’s pouring down rain—one or both of us is going to take him.
Since we’re consistent, he knows he can count on that.
It’s the same with God.
When we bring our requests to him and lay them at his feet, we can then wait with eager expectation about how and when he will answer.
Because Jesus says that if we ask, we will receive.
If we seek, we will find.
If we knock, the door will be opened.
God’s answers to our prayers may not always be what we had in mind.
But we can trust that he will faithfully answer—and that the answers we receive will be based on his consistent mercy, his unending compassion, and his unconditional love.
